Music Always Round Me

Chester Festival Chorus presents a programme of a capella choral music that spans centuries and genres. From Canadian composer Robert Nathaniel Dett’s O Holy Lord inspired by spirituals he learned from his grandmother, to Irish composer Áine Mallon’s beautiful arrangement of the folksong The Parting Glass, this concert presents music for well-seasoned concert go-ers to brand new audience members alike. As well as singing choral ‘milestone’ works, including Holst’s stunning Nunc Dimittis, the choir will bring a fresh approach to some well-known classics.
